Hello Members and Interested Individuals,
There have been some concerns and questions regarding the financials from Bear Bust 2009. Accusations have been made that there was no way that BOCF should have only given $2200 to charity due to the number of run packages that were sold for Bear Bust 2009.
Obviously, these accusations are coming from a source that would have no idea about the amount of money that is spent to put on an event such as Bear Bust. They undoubtedly failed to take into consideration that astronomical amounts of money is spent on catering, not to mention entertainment, t-shirts and giveaways.
At the bottom of this post is a copy of this letter and a PDF file containing the documents that show what was spent on Catering, Entertainment and DJ/Lighting. As you will see by the evidence provided, BOCF spent $34,860 just on those items alone.
This does not include the amount that was spent on t-shirts, giveaways, decorations, advertising, (banners, posters and palmcards).
Hopefully by seeing the amount of money that was put into this event, the ignorant individuals who are making false statements and accusations will be better informed and can realize just how wrong they are.

if it’s any consolation – the committee at manchester pride UK goes through this every year – people make accusations of all kinds of conspiracy and fraud with no evidence whatsoever!!
seems it’s the same the world over – people aren’t happy parting with money, preferring to get something for nothing – and if they have to part with it they like to think they’re doing something outstanding with it – god forbid it should be used in organising an amazing event that they’ve all taken complete advantage of
you will always have people who will throw these kind of accusations at you – and good for you for taking the time and trouble to post evidence to shoot them down
i’ve been over for the bear bust and am coming again this year – it’s a huge event and how people think that wouldn’t cost money is beyond me
keep up the good work fella – and know that the UK is rooting for you LOL
